Turn a sharp eye to the Acer Aspire 6930G-6723 if you are on the lookout for a stellar multi-media machine. The small brother to the Acer Aspire 8930G, the 6930G comes packed with a robust Intel Core 2 Duo processor, polygon-pushing Nvidia graphics, a Blu-ray drive, as well as powerful sound. Priced at $999, the latest machine is best suited for those multi-media mavens who wish for a rather lightweight desktop replacement that is not too high-priced.
Not unlike the 8930G, the 6930G sports Acer’s Gemstone design, a gorgeous blend of illuminated buttons, wide-ranging textures, and glossy finishes. The bluish black lid of the 15.7 x 11.5 x 1.7-inch system gives the impression of being sharp. It is a fingerprint magnet, so you may possibly be wishing for keeping a cloth handy to keep the untouched out-of-the-box look.
Weighing not more than the 8930G, the Acer Aspire 6930G-6723 checks in at a still-chunky 7.2 pounds. The 16-inch Samsung R610-64G comes with the weight of just 6 pounds. So while the 6930G is rather handy, you would not like to travel with it.
