aceraspireg7700-uq9550a The Acer has named its Aspire G7700-UQ9550A as Predator. The name and the design of the gaming system are definitely going to turn the heads. Priced at $2199, the bright orange Predator looks like a PC derived from a science fiction film. The Predator backs up its flashy outlook with its powerful performance.

The Acer Predator’s chassis definitely stands out of the crowd as it is made of high quality plastic and metal and is designed in bright orange. The front face of the chassis is provided with a panel which covers the optical drives. Moreover, the optical drives are uniquely designed and do not look like the ordinary drives. The vents located below the optical drives can be features four removable hard drive bays. Three of the four bays are occupied by SATA hard drives which offer a total storage of 640GB. The fourth bay is empty and you can arrange the hard drives in RAID 5.

You will find a lot of attractive features inside the box. The CPU is liquid cooled which receives air through the shroud channels located on the top of the case. A removable bracket is capable of fitting multiple graphics cards one of which is the included Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX graphics card. The bracket also has three slots PCI x16 graphics cards. There is no room for expanding the RAM as all the slots are occupied by 8GB of DDR2-800 RAM. Also present is a 750W power supply, which is adequate for dual-card SLI power.

The Predator comes with few pre-installed software from Acer. At start up, the screen shows five windows. These five Windows are: Create an Acer factory default backup image, Thank you for choosing SoundBlaster MB, Welcome Center, Welcome to Acer Product Registration, and Program Setup which features 60 day trial subscription of McAfee Internet Security Suite.

All in all when it boils down to the design, the Acer’s Predator is worth the money that you will pay for it.
