Acer recently launched another 13-inch laptop to its lineup of Timeline laptops. Like its other siblings, the Acer Aspire Timeline 3810T offers a nice blend of attractive design with efficient and low power consuming processors. The Timeline 3810T compliments all of it with its powerful battery that promises of incredible 8 hours of back up. Though the Apple’s13-inch MacBook claims to provide similar battery back up, but it is priced $100 higher than Acer and is equipped with smaller hard drive and RAM.
Measuring 12.7 inches wide, 8.9 inches deep, 1.1 inches high, the Aspire Timeline 3810T weighs just 3.7 pounds (AC adapter adds another 0.8 pound). The laptop is lighter than many other 12-inch and 13-inch notebook and is priced at just $899. As the features, the Timeline 3810T is powered by 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU U9400 and is equipped with 4GB of 1066MHz DDR2 RAM. The graphics are handled by Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card, which is integrated in Intel GS45 chipset. The laptop boasts of a large 500GB hard drive, which spins at 5,400 rpm. The Timeline 3810T comes with preinstalled Windows Vista Premium (64-bit) operating system.
The laptop boasts of a large sized keyboard that is perfect for error-free typing. The keys are large and flat, and provide the same feel that you get from Apple or Sony Vaio laptops. But the touchpad is little small in size when compared to Apple MacBook but it is usable. Moreover, the mouse buttons are located on a single rocker bar, which is quite annoying. But there is some respite from single cracker bar as the touch pad supports multitouch gestures. Just above the keyboard, you will find an array of touch-sensitive controls for Wi-Fi, backup program, and a power-saving preset mode.
The laptop sports a 13.3-inch wide-screen LED screen, which has native resolution of 1366×768 pixels and supports 16:9 aspect ratio. The laptop has all the necessary ports and connectors with the exception of Bluetooth and optical drive. These include VGA-out, HDMI- out port, stereo speakers, headphone/microphone jacks, three USB 2.0, SD card reader, Ethernet, and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi.
