Acer to launch netbook with 10.2-inch screen

Acer, world’s leading computer vendor, has a plan to come up with a 10.2-inch screen netbook in 2009. According to a company representative, it is confirmed that the netbook is the largest netbook screen up till now. The Taiwanese company’s Acer Aspire One netbook has already hit the marketplace this year. Released at mid-year, the device now comes built-in with Asustek Computer’s admired Eee PC in its sights. Acer is also reported to have come up with the deliveries of six mln Aspire One’s this year, against estimates of five mln from Asustek for its Eee PCs.

As its review, the Acer Aspire One out is now integrated with an 8.9-inch screen, however most companies are now throwing in netbooks with 10.2-inch screens. The little larger screen sizes are all the rage among the people who are inclined to view Web pages lacking scrolling left & right to make out the whole page. Asustek, which has come up with a 7-inch screen on its Eee PCs, has maintained that it has no plan to put out the small screen size in the long run as people are not prone to it as much.

Netbooks are mini-laptop PCs, which are specifically been tailored for mobility, typically featuring 7-inch to 10-inch screens and comes with the weight of not more than 2 kilo-grams. Most of the netbook tools, comprising the microprocessor, are not as robust as those of full-grown laptops thus batteries goes for a long time. Netbooks are made to deal with browsing the Internet, e-mail and functioning on spreadsheet documents or word processor, not for heavy-duty gaming, video editing or other multimedia work.

It is also reported that that Acer is planning to put forward a competitor to Asustek’s Eee Top, which is a low-priced rival to Apple’s iMac, a display with computing functions integrated.
