If you need a jam-packed toolbox for multimedia content creation, Adobe Creative Suite 4 Master Collection is an ideal option. The latest suit has apps for concocting and editing digital pixel & vector graphics, video, print layouts, Web pages and animation, and then repurposing that content for mobile devices.
The unveiling of Adobe CS3 in 2007 was the first to slot in earlier Macromedia products, like Flash. But with the launch of Adobe CS 4, Adobe claims to have built-in the interfaces of all the apps for a more seamless experience. The integrated Flash-based panels are said to be handier than its predecessors, and nimble pull-down menus with preset styles let you shift among work space layouts fast.
In order to run the heavy-duty CS4 apps, you need to have powerful hardware, meaning if you use Windows Vista or XP SP2, you have to have a processor of around 3.4GHz or 2GHz for working with high-def video. Photoshop presently backs up 64-bit Vista, whilst After Effects, Premiere, Soundbooth, and OnLocation are licensed for 64-bit Vista. More over, you need a 1,280×900-pixel display with OpenGL 2.0-compatible graphics card.
And if you are Mac users, it needs an Intel multi-core processor sprinting Mac OS X version 10.4.11 or newer, around 2GB of RAM, and free hard disk space of 26.3GB or higher. Installation comes via DVD.
The Master Collection will cost $1,599 for users of other CS3 applications to upgrade, or $1,199 for users who have two suitable older versions of the suite.
Since CS3, there has not been any change as to the costs of individual suites, however I wish Adobe to lower the pricing, or provide mix-and-match costs for greater flexibility. Artists who are keen to accessing Adobe CS4 from their office or get it at an educational discount may have to skip more than a few meals to afford it, whereas, those who needn’t so many tools may think options, like CorelDraw graphics application.
