Alienware’s new release – Area-51 m17x is all in black and is a high end gaming notebook, which is available only from Alienware directly. It is probably one of the largest notebooks among the most popular one’s with a solid and strong built. As per looks are concerned, Area-51 m17x has a very traditional looks and box like design with a rubber matte black finish and glossy on the borders of the LCD. Its integrated LED backlighting system, known as AlienFX on the five areas of the notebook makes it all different from others.
The five areas where the LED backlights are used are, Keyboard, Touchpad, Touch buttons, Alienware logo below the display and Alien head power button and emblem on the backside of the display. The color of each of these five areas can be changed independently among 12 given colors.
The display of this notebook is of very high quality and is just perfect for gaming, playing High Definition videos and for general use. The cooling system is very important for any laptops and Area-51 m17x is upto the mark. It has a number of large fans and two air intakes under palmrests in addition. The backside of the notebook contains lines of exhaust vents to throw out extra amount of heat.
