In 1999, Alexander Asseily and Hosain Rahman, two Stanford undergraduates dreamt a dream to built a noise free environment in the world of mobile communication. They built their private company ‘Aliph’ and launched their award winning product Bluetooth enabled Jawbone headset on December 2006. And in the subsequent two years Aliph introduced their revised version of Jawbones having improvised sound quality using Noise Shield technology. The latest one is named as Jawbone PRIME.
The Aliph Jawbone is now become the most stylish Bluetooth headset to modern mobile holders. This finger size headset helps its user receive a call without even touching the cell phones. But the Aliph Jawbones are someway different from its competitor. While a person talks using the headsets, a rubber piece of the product extends over the muscle that moves the Jaw of its user. That is why the name was given as ‘Jawbone’. So the words coming out from the users’ moving mouth are highly detected by it and other outside noises can easily be discarded.
This 1.8 x 2.2 x 0.7 inches rectangle shaped and black plastic covered Jawbones are designed by eminent industrial designer Yves Behar. When the Jawbone is active a soothing LED (Light Emitting Diode) gives this product an artistic look. Another attractive feature is its battery. It consists of a battery strength indicator at the top of it. Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth headset can run up to 6 hours at a stretch and its batter power remains 120 hours at the stand-by mode. It also supports redialing last number, voice dialing technology, transferring calls from headset to cell phone and vice versa etc.
This product is launches with three microphones and a voice-activity sensor, battery charger with cable, four ear loops, and USB (Universal Serial Bus) charging cable. The incoming voice quality is crystal cleared and amplified. Volume can be adjusted with a Noise shield button located at the bottom of the ear piece and a talk button at the top of the product helps receiving calls. Noise shield technology has been approved by U.S. Department of Defense’s independent research branch known as DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency).
Aliph will spread their product all over the world within this year. The price of the product is $100-$130 (excluding taxes) and it is available in three colors: silver, black, and red. Though lots of facility Aliph has provided, but the bulky size earpiece is really high price product compare to other head sets available in the market. User often complaints about its clumsy charger and non supportive voice caller ID. But if sound quality is concerned only, then I think Aliph Jawbone will be the best at its field.
