One of the best netbook manufacturers in current market, Acer introduced their first product of the new year as Aspire 532h netbook. The first product of new year will also introduce Intel Pine Trail platform for the first time in an Acer netbook. Acer has kept almost all other features similar to its current netbook lineup.
This is a breakthrough achievement as Intel Pine Trail platform allows manufacturers to migrate from the usual three-chip architecture to advanced two-chip architecture. In the new two-chip format, CPU takes charge of memory and graphics management while I/O controller is used as second chip. Performance of Aspire 532h netbook is expected to get a boost with this new feature.
Aspire 532h netbook boasts basic Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition pre-loaded on Intel Atom N450-based netbook. The 1.66Ghz processor provides decent performance considering usual specifications of a netbook. Media reports suggest that Aspire 532h netbook is capable of providing uptime of about ten hours when fully charged with its powerful 6-cell battery pack. Rest of its features include 160GB HDD, 1GB RAM, Wi-Fi and a basic webcam.
The compact netbook will be available in four colors- red, black, white and blue. A few screenshots of the upcoming netbook were made available at CES ’10. From first looks, it looks pretty decent and durable. Neat keyboard and multi-touch pad adds to its long list of features. VGA out port and 5-in-1 card reader are some other features of Aspire 532h netbook that are seen in other netbooks as well. 93-percent standard keyboard is more than efficient for large hands and normal users.
Acer successfully promoted Aspire 532h netbook at recently concluded CES ’10. After getting a lot of media attention at CES, Acer is expected to roll out the product commercially at the end of January. Retail price tag for Aspire 532h netbook is set at just $299.99. For feature set that Aspire 532h netbook has to offer, sub-$300 price is a pretty fair one. Moreover, there are not many established netbook products in that price range. So, Aspire 532h netbook might be onto something big here.
