When it was launched, the Asus 1005HA impressed everyone with its design, battery life and looks. The Asus 1005HA was among the best netbooks present at that time but in the time for which any electronic product can rule the market is very short as new and new products are launched everyday. So, the Asus has revamped the older version and recently unveiled 1005HAGB-BBY-BK01X, which almost similar configuration as that of its older sibling.
The most distinguishing difference between the two models is internal Gobi 3G antenna, which is capable of handling multiple carriers. This model is priced at $399 but you can get other 1005HA models without the 3G antenna, for as low as $299.
Though, the attractive design and long battery life have their advantage over other netbooks, the internal components offered by the new model are outdated. The netbook has 10.1-inch display, which has resolution of 1024×600 but the latest manufacturers has gone as far as offering 11-inch HD displays with resolution up to 1366×768 pixels.

Moreover, this netbook runs on Windows XP as opposed to Windows 7 Starter that comes with all the recent netbooks. Its 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 and 1GB of 533MHz DDR2 RAM make it evident that Asus 1005HA is slower than latest netbooks that have faster CPU’s. Other hardware includes Mobile Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics card, Mobile Intel 945GM Express chipset and 160GB 5,400rpm hard drive.
The keyboard is feels little clacky but it has wide and flat keys like the keys o most Asus Eee PC laptops. The users shouldn’t have any problems while typing. The touch pad is circumscribed by a rectangle made of raised dots and a single thin rocker bar works as mouse buttons. You can disable the touch pad with a button located above the keyboard.

Apart from the Gobi 3G antenna, you get all the standard connectivity options. The VGA-out port, stereo speakers, headphone/microphone jacks, three USB 2.0, SD card reader, Ethernet, and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi sums up the connectivity options.
