Asus, Disney together launch Disney Netpal netbook


asusdisneynetpalDisney and Asus have joined hands to launch a sleek durable netbook known as Disney Netpal. The latest netbook targets children with its easy to use features, unique computing services and Disney interface.

The netbook comes with nearly 40 dynamic parental control options which include dazzling visual environments, Disney character icons and pleasant software to educate and entertain the children. It features a 8.9-inch LED-backlit WSVGA screen. It supports Wi-Fi to enable the kids to access to the Internet wirelessly. The extra filters make it easier for parents to decide contacts to whom their kids can communicate through mail.

The Disney Magic Desktop platform supports an attractive 2D gadget tray, which displays Disney character menus, Disney-themed browser and suite of parental control options. As the reviews, the Netpal is available in two colors, Disney Princess Pink with pink florals and Disney Magic Blue with Mickey Mouse icons. It has more than 10 customizable desktop themes.

You can select any of them considering your child’s preference. The latest netbook also features Disney Mix for music and media management, Disney Pix for photo customization and organization and Radio Disney for audio selection. It also features driving game, number game and memory game.

The Netpal comes with two models, Asus MK90H and MK90. The Asus MK90H netbook has a 160GB hard disk drive and the MK90 possesses a 16GB solid state drive.

The Asus netbook is compatible with Windows XP Home operating system. It is run by Intel Atom N270 processor. Other components of the device are DDR2 SO-DIMM 1GB RAM, 0.3mp webcam, MMC and SD (SDHC supported) card reader.

It also features hi-definition audio codec, built-in analog stereo speakers and 4200mAh Polymer battery. The netbook can operate continuously for five hours with a single charge. The Asus Disney Netpal will hit the market by the end of July with the price tag of $349.99 (approx. Rs.16, 807).
