Asus introduces its slim and stylish corporate look notebook – EEE PC S101

Unlike other Asus EEE laptops reviews , the Asus EEE PC S101 is much more technologically advance, lighter in weight, redesigned looks and last but not the least more dependable. This slim, lightweight and stylish notebook from Asus is all packed inside a suede wallet. Along the bottom edge of the laptop flip cover a leather trim is stitched all around. An Eee logo is embossed into the leather over the fold over flap on the bottom right corner.

Opening the flap actually reveals the hidden mystery – a massive transformation from the usual black and white combination casing found in the older models of Eee PCs. Here comes the burnt touch of orange lid of the S101 model with striking metallic finish. Asus is now looking forward to add some new color lids that include graphite and champagne. Not only it has been redesigned to give a corporate look but also stylish and portable which is much more preferred by users.

The new S101 model of the Asus Eee PC group measures 264mm in length, 180.5mm in depth and between 18 to 25mm in thickness with a velvety finish. Although slim and thin looking, but S101 does not fall under the category of ultra slim notebooks such as the MacBook Air or Lenovo ThinkPad X300 models. However it is thinner than the Sony’s TZ-series notebook models. It includes a six cell 4,900mAh Lithium Ion battery placed beneath the trackpad. It introduces a quick response keyboard with a multi-touch trackpad. The chassis contains a dual USB 2.0 ports on one side and another USB 2.0 port, a headphone and microphone jacks on the other side of it.

The VGA and 10/100 Ethernet and power sockets are installed on the back side of it. Asus EEE PC S101 laptop is integrated with a 10.2 inch LED backlit screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 1GB DDR2 667MHz RAM, a hard disk capacity of 52GB, Intel 945GSE/ICH7M chipset and bundled with Windows XP operating system. The Windows XP version of this model comes with a 16GB solid state drive and a 16GB SDHC card in addition, while the two Linux versions comes with either a 32GB or 64GB SSD. The S101 model supports 802.11n wireless networking and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity.
