ASUS F50Sv A2 laptop reviews

asusf50sva2These days, the sizes of laptops have come of age. A couple of years ago, a twelve inch laptop was considered the epitome of large size. But now, sixteen inch laptops are quickly flooding the markets. The reason for the popularity of these models is that they can be used as ultraportable devices and also as work desk bound computers.

Asus has also forayed into these models of laptops. The latest Asus F50SV-A2, priced at $1,249, consists of the latest Nvidia graphics chip and an integrated Blu-ray drive in an excellent overall package.

The Asus F50SV-A2 is a relatively heavy laptop. It weighs around 7.36 pounds. The laptop measures 14.96 × 10.43 × 1.64 inches. The screen size of the laptop is about 16 inches. The laptop runs on the Windows Vista Premium operating system. The weight of this laptop is more than the standard laptops but less than the traditional gaming laptops. The device is powered by a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 processor.

The processor is supported by 4GB of DDR2 RAM that has a front-side bus of 800 MHz. The chipset on the device is the Mobile Intel GM45 Express chipset. The graphics on the laptop are powered by the state of the art and latest Nvidia GeForce G 120M graphics card. As far as storage space is concerned, you get a 320GB hard drive in the device.

The exterior of the device is resistant toward fingerprints and the screen accounts for an excellent, bright, and sharp display with a native resolution of 1366 × 768 pixels. The keyboard is nice to work on and the multi touch keypad is a class apart. The laptop features a built-in Blu-ray drive. The support software for this drive is the standard WinDVD Blu-ray software.

The laptop features connectivity options such as 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, optional WWAN connectivity. The device houses 4 USB ports, HDMI port, VGA-out port, ExpressCard slot and headphone/microphone jacks. The battery life of the computer is around 1.5 hours in one round of single full charge. Asus provides a two-year, parts and labor warranty with the device.
