Avira Premium Security Suite comes at $54 for one user and provides excellent performance when it matters most. The security suite beats all other security suites when it comes to antivirus detection performance. Though the most shining feature of the Avira Security Suite is capability of detect the dangerous files but it not the only feature included in the suite. But the user interface is a little complicated and it will suit more to technical users and other users will have hard time with it. Moreover, the suite also lacks the parental-control feature which is offered by most other security suites.

According to the tests conducted by various testing labs, the Avira successfully identified almost all the threats. When the suite was tested against the unknown malware it showed performance on the top of the charts. Moreover, the Avira Security Suite performs very quick scan which is little slower than Panda Internet Security 2009, which is the fastest security suite. It also claimed the third-place in on-demand scan speed, for scheduled and manually run scans.

The Avira Security Suite does not need any improvement in its capabilities to detect malware but there is lot of room for improvement in its user interface. The technical user will be able to understand the terms like ‘Local protection’, but most users will not be able to recognize such terms. The interface also features plenty of small icons which represent various types of scans and tasks. It means you have to place your mouse on every button to know their functions. Moreover, the settings are classified into basic view and an expert view which makes the interface more complicated.

The antispam feature of the suite is also a bit complicated. Instead of adding a toolbar to the Outlook or other e-mail applications you have to open the interface and mark the messages as spam.
