Bell Mobility all set to introduce Palm Pre in Canada

palm_pre Palm has introduced its latest Palm Pre smartphone. It will operate on Palm’s web OS. The multi touch smartphone will be hitting the Canadian market very soon. The hi-tech phone will be available over Bell Mobility’s 3G mobile network.

The Palm Pre is regarded as the arc rival of Apple’s much-talked iPhone. The smartphone is based on Palm’s WebOS. The WebOS is a unique operating system designed exclusively for the web-based mobile phones. The operating of Palm Pre is very simple. You don’t need any technical knowledge.

The latest Palm Pre is packed with a host of elegant features and applications to woo the customers. The handset comes with a QWERTY slider keyboard. It has a 3.1” touch screen with 24-bit color while boosting its 320 x 480 resolution HVGA display and a light sensor, which weakens the display when the light condition is poor.

The handset is well designed. The proximity sensor of the handset enables you make you make and receive calls comfortably. The proximity sensor puts the touch screen out of action if you take the phone is touched to ear.

The Palm webOS features Palm Synergy, which enables the customers to view all the important information such as calendars, contact list and messaging applications. The device gives utmost priority on web applications. It also supports Outlook EAS, POP3 and IMAP.

The Palm Pre features Robust messaging support, desktop-class web browser and 3-megapixel camera with LED. It also features a standard 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and A2DP stereo Bluetooth support. The Palm Pre has an enormous 8GB internal memory.

The latest Palm Pre also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. The ringer switch enables the customers to keep the mobile in silence mode with a touch. Measuring 59.57mm (W) x 100.53mm (L) x 16.95mm (D), the smartphone sports a 3G EVDO Rev and GPS. It weighs just 135g.

Palm has not announced the price and availability of the device.
