Bluetooth 3.0 officially rolled out

bluetooth-3 The wait is over, almost over. The much-awaited Bluetooth 3.0 also known as Bluetooth Core Specification Version 3.0 High Speed (HS) has been officially launched by Bluetooth SIG at the high profile yearly All Hands Meeting held in Tokyo.

The Bluetooth 3.0 will enable customers to send all files including video, music and image at a great fast over a wireless network via 802.11 radio protocol. Hence, the developers of consumer electronics and home entertainment devices must look forward to exploit the Bluetooth 3.0 technology to design devices accordingly so that users can make data transfer faster, quicker and easier.

The Bluetooth 3.0 is regarded as one of the reliable short-range wireless technologies. It operates on the 802.11 Protocol Adaptation Layer (PAL) protocol. The short-range wireless technology ensures high speed data transfer at the rate of 24 Mbps. The wireless technology consumes less power due to the improved power control. Thus, it has emerged as the reliable technology for the mobile and other devices, which the customers demand to share their files.

The Bluetooth 3.0 supports Generic Alternate MAC/PHY (AMP), Generic Test Methodology and Unicast Connectionless Data. Bluetooth SIG claims that its latest version will enable customers to send large files to other devices at a great speed by using the 802.11 radio.

Supporting the current 2.1 EDR version, the updated 3.0 version features Simple Secure Pairing and an automated security to achieve high level security for data transfer. Using the Bluetooth 3.0 HS, the developers and manufactures can develop a wide range devices including mobile and home entertainment devices to enable the customers to enjoy high speed data sharing service.

With Bluetooth 3.0, the customers can also categorize music libraries between PC and music player or phone wirelessly. They can also download photos to a printer or PC. They can send video files directly from camera or phone to a PC.

The Bluetooth 3.0 is likely to hit the market after nine months.
