canon-powershot-a2100isAs an amateur photographer, you will feel absolutely comfortable working with a camera that supports a 3x optical zoom. But as you graduate from being an amateur photographer to a more experience one, you will notice that your satisfaction level with a 3x or 4x zoom is not high enough.

You will then try to hunt for cameras with better zoom capabilities. It is in this situation that the Canon PowerShot A2100 IS, with a 6x digital zoom, comes into picture. The camera is loaded with features like a resolution of 12 megapixels, a big LCD screen, Canon’s Digic 4 image processor, etc. The image quality from this camera is also very impressive. The Canon PowerShot A2100 IS carries a price tag of $250.

As far as dimensions of the camera are concerned, the Canon PowerShot A2100 IS measures about 4 × 2.5 × 1.3 inches. It weighs around 8.2 ounces. The camera supports a CCD image sensor that is about 1/2.3-inch big. The camera features a 3 inches big LCD screen. The screen boasts of a resolution of 230K dots. The 12 megapixel camera stores still images in the JPEG file format and video in Motion JPEG file format. The alkaline batteries of this camera give you a performance of 160 shots. The design of the camera is essentially wedge shaped. The camera is pretty comfortable to hold and fits easily into your pockets.

The camera takes about 1.9 seconds to start up. The time between consecutive shots for this camera is 2 seconds with the flash turned off. The LCD screen is very bright and makes navigation in the device an extremely simple affair. The camera features digital image stabilization. You can change ISO settings, white balance settings, brightness, contrast, light metering, etc on the camera.

The camera also features a dedicated face detection technology. The high resolution of this camera results in an excellent image quality.
