Canon Vixia HF200 camcorder reviews

canonvixiahf200Canon had introduced a variety of flash based AVCHD camcorders. It experienced great success in this field and then it followed up these models with the models HF20 and HF200. These new models were a huge improvement over their predecessors and featured additional options.

The model HF200 does not feature a built in storage memory. The downside for many users can be hat the model is way too expensive as compared with the rival models of the same variety. This model offers a long 15x zoom lens. It features a 4 megapixels image sensor. In this model, you will not find any kind of manual control dial, colors bars, and zebra stripes. A surprising omission in this model is that of an eye-level EVF.

As far as dimensions are concerned, the HF200 measures about 2.8 inches by 2.4 inches by 4.9 inches. The device weighs about 13.9 ounces. The dimensions of the camcorder hint at the fact that it can easily fit inside your jacket pocket. The device sports a 2.7 inches big LCD screen.

The screen is a low resolution one. You will find most of the shooting options and controls on the bezel of this LCD. You can adjust the color and gamma level on this camcorder with the help of Canon’s Cine mode. The device offers a variety of controls for adjusting white balance, digital effects, color reproduction, contrast, image effects, and video quality. The camcorder is very easy to use and you will find navigation through its menu an extremely easy task.

You will be able to record for 5.5 minutes per GB at the rate of 24Mbps and for 7.8 minutes per GB at the rate of 17Mbps on the HF200. The rechargeable lithium ion battery of the camcorder offers 1.5 hours of recording on a single round of complete charge. The performance and the quality of the output from the device are very good. The video from the camcorder is sharp with natural colors and detailed exposures. The dynamic range of the device is maximized by the DigicDV 3 processing.

Overall, the Canon Vixia HF200 is a very decent camcorder. It offers a variety of features but is more expensive than the rival models of the same category.

Do you have any insight of your own... why do you all just tell us what Canon website has already told us. I can read this same stuff on Amazon too.... this isn't a review, it is a commercial. Review actually means the pros and Cons of the camera. This is waste of my time and attenion. Google needs to allow consumers to block these types of review sites.
