The video applications are moving to high definition very quickly. So, you need a powerful computer to edit the videos from HD camcordr. The $100 Corel VideoStudio Pro X2 can solve your problem of buying a new PC.
The Smart Proxy editing feature of VideoStudio allows you to create a lower-resolution version of HD video and allows you to edit, apply effects, create menus. When you are done, you can pull in high-resolution video to create finished movie. The image quality in Smart Proxy mode is not that great but you can still apply effects satisfactorily. Also, you can go back and forth in timeline without time lag, and play the files smoothly and quickly. The VideoStudio allows you to enable or disable Smart Proxy mode in the middle of your project.
Corel sait that it has increased the speed of Smart Proxy mode by 300 percent over its previous version. Moreover, VideoStudio is optimized to take advantage of new Intel CPU that recognize SSE4 instruction, thereby boosting the performance of systems. You can now easily upload your videos directly to YouTube; the same feature in version 11.5 require more time to upload your videos. You can also create videos for your iPod or cell phone.
A new feature, named Painting Creater, allows you to create moving overlays for movies. You can choose from 11 paint brushes, 38 textures, full color palette. It also features fun animations that you can drop in top of your video.
The filter and effects and dialog boxes have been enlarged to make them easily accessible. You can also adjust the size of thumbnails. There are some features that the users will like in the VisualStudio X2, such as when one clip is dropped on the top of another, VideoStudio automatically inserts the default transition, and users can set the length of transition.
In the end, VisualStudio X2 offers better range of features than Adobe elements and tools are easier to see than Elements’. But Elements has some unique features that are better than VideoStudio’s such as timeline features. The VideoStudio is better for those who have underpowered PC but those with fastest PC should go for Elements.
