Creative unveils Vado HD Pocket Video Cam

Christmas is around the corner, and the big shots of the techworld are trying to allure the consumers with the delivery of their latest products. So, let me introduce the Vado (TM) HD Pocket Video Cam, which I think could be an ideal holiday gift for you on the eve of Christmas. Launched by Creative, the lightweight and thin Vado HD is so small that it can be fit easily in your pocket, purse or the palm of your hand. In addition, it is capable of capturing video in 720p high-definition quality with one single touch of the button.

As its reviews, the Vado HD is one of its kinds Pocket Video Cam that come with HDMI connectivity and a built-in HDMI cable that offers 1080i output to an HDTV. It also sports a precision glass lens for surprising video quality, and 8GB of integrated memory to take up to two hours of HD video. The Vado HD comes with an expected street price tag of US $229.99 and is likely to be made available in carbon black at Creative.com and Amazon.com.

Steve Erickson, VP and GM for audio and video at Creative, was quoted as saying, “We designed the Vado HD so you can easily shoot all of life’s spontaneous and fun moments, and then come home and watch your videos on an HDTV -- all with true high-definition quality. You can upload the videos to your PC, or what’s really cool is to watch them on your HDTV in full HD quality. Some cameras such as the Flip Mino HD record HD video but don’t let you output it in high definition to your HDTV. Even the New York Times laments, ‘the Mino HD is ahi-def camcorder that can’t play your movies in high def on a high-def TV. ‘The Vado HD delivers 1080i high-definition video to an HDTV, plus it offers the convenience of an HDMI connection.”

The ease of the Vado HD makes it perfect for taking video on a moment’s notice. When your camcorder is kept away somewhere in a camera bag, the Vado HD gets ready with in just seconds to arrest clips that can be cherished and saved by you for a lifetime in HD quality. The Vado HD, with 8GB of integrated memory, is capable of carrying up to two hours of HD video, without asking you to carry DVDs or tapes with you. The rechargeable and removable battery brags of up to two hours of playback and recording, and additional batteries can be availed as accessories thus allowing you to easily change them to take more and more video.

Vado HD Features — Slim, lightweight, 720p HD video capture, HDMI connectivity offers 1080i video output to HDTV, pocket-sized design, integrated HDMI cable; Built-in two-inch color LCD screen, Removable rechargeable battery, Built-in USB cable for PC, Precision glass lens, Built-in Vado Central software program for posting videos to YouTube and Box.net, plus Muvee(TM) software for video editing and customization, and capturing snapshots Vado HD Accessories.
