Dell has decided to tackle Apple’s iMac with the introduction of its Dell Studio One 19 all-in-one desktop. The best part is that this model is cheap in terms of price and is available for a price between $699 and $900. Similar to Dell’s other studio products, the Studio One 19 is also a design marvel and is a carefully sculpted and powerful all-in-one desktop that rests over a metal stand. The Studio One 19 boasts of being built around an 18.5-inches multi-touch-capable monitor. This monitor offers an aspect ratio of 16:9 and is widescreen in nature. The native resolution offered by the monitor is a decent 1,366 by 768 pixels. The monitor of the Studio One 19 is flanked by a pair of integrated stereo speakers. The look of the Studio One 19 is a lot softer than Apple’s iMac. As far as color options are concerned, they are, in addition to the standard pure white model, Tuscan Red, Charcoal, Powder Pink, and Navy Blue.
The Studio One 19 is capable of supporting an Intel processor from the Celeron up to a Core 2 Quad and can be powered by up to 4 GB of DDR2 SDRAM. In terms of storage options, it can hold a hard drive ranging from 160 GB to 750 GB in storage size. You get a choice between Nvidia’s GeForce 9200 or 9400 integrated graphics for your model of the device. You also get to choose between a DVD burner and a Blu-ray burner and also between a 32-bit Windows Vista Home Basic and a 64-bit Home Vista Premium operating system. The Dell Studio One 19 also houses a wireless keyboard and mouse. Other optional features on the machine include 802.11b/g or 802.11n Wi-Fi support, a 7-in-1 memory card reader, a webcam, and an integrated microphone.
According to Dell, the Studio One 19 will initially only be available in Japan in retail outlets and at Dell.com. Dell has decided to price the Studio One 19 at $699 for the base model that lacks the touch screen and at $900 for a version that boasts of a multi-touch screen. Dell has also announced that this model will be launched in markets in other countries by spring this year.
