Dell introduces pocket-able Wasabi PZ310 ultra-mobile photo printer

This week, Dell announced the Wasabi PZ310 ultra-mobile photo printer. This printer is based on ZINK’s Zero Ink technology. The printer is capable of producing instant 2 by 3 inches wallet sized borderless color images in time of less than sixty seconds. The printer is high on connectivity as it uses Bluetooth for wireless connectivity and PictBridge for physical connections. As its reviews, the Wasabi PZ310 is capable of working with Bluetooth-enabled camera phones such as the RIM Blackberry Curve, LG Trax, and Motorola RAZR V3. The printer is also work-compatible with digital cameras and mobile PCs.
The Wasabi is a small device. It is also pocket able with tiny measurements of 4.8 by 2.8 by 0.9 inches. The printer is extremely light and weighs a mere 7 ounces. Until now, only Polaroid’s Digital Instant Mobile Photo Printer and PoGo Instant Digital Camera were the two products to incorporate ZINK technology. This printer becomes only the third device to do so. Under this technology, ZINK Imaging offers printing without the need of loading ink cartridges or dye rolls separately from the paper. This technology was first introduced by ZINK in January 2007. This technology uses a special paper in printing. This paper incorporates heat-sensitive cyan, yellow, and magenta dye crystals. This results in elimination of the need for liquid ink. You only need to load this paper in order to effectively load ink. The photo paper is sticky-backed. It is for use in decorating surfaces like lockers and laptops. The printer offers a one-touch reprint function. This function allows you to easily duplicate the last printed image. The photos, printed using this technology, are water resistant in nature.
The Dell Wasabi PZ310 is launched in three colors. The available colors are pink, black, and blue. Dell is offering the Wasabi PZ310 through its Web site for a promotional price of $99. The regular price of the device will be $149. This tiny printer has the potential to conquer the market with its cutting edge technology and sharp features.
