Dropbox – The Ultimate Sync Software
Almost all PC and mobile users like to save and backup their important files, videos and images. Today there are many types of software that can save and backup your data. However theses softwares are unable to synchronize the data appropriately. This is where Dropbox is introduced, it is a cloud based service compatible over many platforms and coupled together with a free iPhone application, it is undeniably one of the most renowned sync software in the market today.
The simplicity in the software is its most striking feature. Starting from installation to the usage of the product, the interface is very user friendly and easy. After installation a user account has to be made online, doing which brings up the subscription packages. The packages vary from a free2GB to 100GB synchronization. Dropbox allows the users to create 20 separate folders which can accommodate 20,000 files each. Two folders are available by default namely the photo and the public.
The photos folder is for synchronizing your images and the public folder creates an URL for selected files for sharing data. Earlier reviews of the Windows Live Synchronizing did not prove to be viable. The Dropbox however is top notch. A 4.7 GB backup can be done in 9 hours which is close to the Windows Live Sync. The Dropbox system also provides LAN sync, which can sync files between local area computers.
Logging on to www.dropbox.com you would receive information on your account. This mentions the types of files being synchronized and the amount of space used and available. Features such as creation of shared folders, renaming and copying, downloading files etc. are available. A free version of the Dropbox is available as an iPhone application via the i Tunes store. Overall Dropbox is an astounding file sync software which exceeds in simplicity and performance.
