Epson EH-TW3000 review – a decent and quiet projector

The latest projector from Epson, the EH-TW3000, takes pride in being a low cost 1080p projector. The projector is not for the style conscious as it is housed in a simple and dull off-white chassis. The projector comes fitted with the feature of a horizontal and vertical lens shift. This feature enables the user to project at an angle without creation of any kind of a distorted image. There are two buttons in the lens shift controls. One button is for power supply and the other is to change input source. The projector houses the menu shortcuts on its right hand side. On the back of the projector are two HDMI 1.3 inputs. The back of the projector also houses an S-Video port and a VGA port.

The EH-TW3000 runs on the Epson’s 3LCD technology. The projector provides a contrast ratio of 18,000:1. The projector can give up to 1,800 ANSI lumens, making the brightness exemplary. The projector is also very quiet with a very low noise level of 22 dB. The EH-TW3000 can gain a 50-inch projection from a distance of over 3m. The 2.1X optical zoom on the projector can supplement the same distance to as much as 100-inch.

The projector has a special feature in “Auto Iris”. This feature, depending on the image being projected, adjusts the light intensity. This boosts the image quality. With the help of the lounge mode of the projector, daytime viewing, without the curtains closed, is possible. Overall, the projector offers a sharp, impressive, and a detailed projection. The projector is an excellent tool for watching sporting events as the Lounge mode proves very good, in creating bright and excellent colour reproduction during projection of sporting events. The same is true for gaming events on the projector. The projector is available at a price of £1,299. All in all, the Epson EH-TW3000 is a decent, quiet, and a good performing projector which proves to be worth a try.
