Epson-Perfection-V600After the successful launch of its P-6000 and P-7000, multimedia photo viewers, Epson is in news again for its energy-saving Perfection V600 Photo Scanner. The scanner is touted to make use of the innovative Epson ReadyScan LED technology, which boasts offering compatibility for the ENERGY STAR, and help reduce its consumption of power.

Similar to proprietary Digital Image Correction Engine (ICE) Technology, Epson’s latest Perfection Photo Scanner also uses 6400 x 9600 dpi resolution to make it dust and scratch proof. As the features, Epson’s Digital ICE Technology allows users to repair & restore the damaged film and photo scans. The process makes an automatic detection and correction of the defected files. Scanner also boasts of offering quick scanning, retouching and archiving of photos, 35 mm filmstrips, mounted slides and film and full-size panoramic medium format film (6×22 cm).

Improved Epson Scanner is also claimed to offer compatibility for Windows 7 and Snow Leopard, which help users preview the image at a variable size and save their preferences under the name specified by the user. The software is functional in three modes; auto and home for easy scanning and a professional for advanced users. The device is touted to be capable of scanning the image with 48-bit color depth and embedded ICC profile.

As the reviews, scanner also comes built-in with software, Epson Event Manager v2.3m, which helps manage the scan button, Adobe PhotoShop Elements 7 and ABBYY FineReader 6 Sprint Plus.
