Epson Perfection V300 Photo scanner reviews

epsonperfectionv300The Epson Perfection V300 Photo scanner is priced at $100. It features a stark improvement over other scanners of the same range. The improvement is in terms of technology as well as in terms of design. This model is the baby brother of the $150 priced V350 Photo scanner by the same company. This scanner offers an optical resolution of 4,800 pixels per inch.

As far as the transparency scanning limit of the printer is concerned, it gives the same of a mere four slides. This can also be understood in terms of a single six frame strip of film at one go. These days, with improvement in the scanner technology, most scanners have come of age. This scanner is state of the art in respect that its uses a LED as its source of light in case of reflective scans. This technology ensures that the warm-up time of the scanner is completely done away with and consecutive scans come at a very consistent speed.

The scanner is extremely easy to set up. Just plug in the power chord, USB cable (provided), install the software and you are good to go. The company provides you the drivers for Windows 2000 Professional, Vista, XP x64, XP, and Mac OS 10.3.9. Epson also provides a lot of bundled software with the device. The software includes Epson’s scan utility, Abbyy FineReader 6.0 Sprint Plus, ArcSoft MediaImpression 6, Twain drivers, and WIA drivers.

In order to scan, you can use the scanners scan utility or you can do it by using the scan button on the scanner. The printer gives you the option of storing your files in the PDF format. The printer enables you to scan many pages to a PDF file. The best part about the device is its user friendliness and the number of options provided in the device.

The Full Auto Mode of the scanner is also a class apart in terms of service and usage. The scan quality of V300 is very good, given its low price. The printer is capable of detailing bright areas in the scanned files and also produces almost flawless photo prints. Overall, the Epson Perfection V300 Photo scanner is an excellent amalgamation of features, low price, and performance.
