Fujitsu unveils LifeBook T5010 with multi-touch input option

Like Lenovo, Fujitsu has also jumped into the multitouch laptop race by introducing an updated version of its LifeBook T5010 convertible tablet PC. The LifeBook is featured with a multi-touch-capable 13.3-inch WXGA display with an optional dual digitizer that has been crafted to support touch-based features of the most-anticipated Windows 7 platform.
The optional dual digitizer (active digitizer/capacitive touch) helps users perform two-fingered action for gesture controls like scrolling, panning, zooming and rotating objects and media on screen as well as stylus interaction for editing files or signing documents digitally. As its reviews, the T5010 also comes with a modular bay that can be used to hold a second hard drive, optical drive, or extra battery.
The LifeBook T5010 also comes featured with 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 1 to 2 GB of RAM, 80 to 12 GB of harddrive storage and a modular DVD±RW DVD writer. It is weighed around 4.5 pounds in the weight-saver configuration. In addition, the T5010 also comes embedded with gigabit Ethernet, an integrated webcam and mic, Bluetooth and 802.11a/b/g/n wireless communications, and incorporated security features such as; a smart card reader, trusted platform module, security panel, and fingerprint sensor.
Apart from these, the LifeBook T5010 also comes featured with a dedicated SmartCrad slot, built-in fingerprint sensor, security panel, BIOS and hard drive password protection. The LifeBook T5010 also comes integrated with an embedded TPM 1.2 and Computrace BIOS agent.
This latest Fujitsu creation also boasts of a full-size, spill-resistant keyboard with touch pad. Some selected models are also built-in with optional mobile broadband support from the AT&T incorporated broadband connect and built-in Verizon Wireless mobile broadband.
The LifeBook T5010, at present, can be availed with the prices ranging from $1,759, and $1,859 with the dual digitizer. Fujitsu is now offering Windows Vista Business suit, but soon, the company is expected to roll out Windows 7 when Microsoft pulls the trigger in October. Let’s hope it work.
