With a view to updating its range of Durabook rough and rugged laptops, GammaTech is now all set to hit the selves with another model, which comes after breaking the terabyte. The new D-14 E-Series Notebook touts to offer a storage space of 1TB HDD in a rugged-ready build to withstand the rough and tough working environment.

The Durabook line of GammaTech has already made a niche in the market because of its comfortable functionality in hazardous conditions and now with its Durabook D-14 E-Series, the company wants to carry on with its tradition and commitment.

On the feature front, the Durabook D-14 comes with a storage space of 1TB, which is in excess of the prior Durabooks that had 160GB HDD. The E-series Durabook, away from the storage capacity, is powered by a Core 2 Duo processor from Intel, which is touted to go beyond the 2GHz as well. Besides, it also boasts of 8GB of RAM and a display of up to 14.1-inch.

The GammaTech Durabook D-14 E-Series’ magnesium alloy build is capable of standing firm against the scrapes, bumps and drops. Besides, the device also works as a computing work-horse in construction settings and industrial surroundings. Though is also capable of working excellent in a casual office, the device can also be utilized in rough & tough conditions.

Besides all these, the storage space of 1TB also comes as a good upgrade, but I am a little amazed that manufacturers of ruggadized notebooks are not proffering WiMax options or integrated 3G. These are mobile contractions normally, thus an on the move wireless technology could place them over the top.

The Durabook D-14 E-series ruggedized notebooks are slated to ship in the 2010 some time, and no pricing info as yet. The prior Durabook could be purchased at $1,500, thus, the all new product is also expected to come a little more than that range.
