FCC is credited to leak out the details of Garmin’s upcoming nuvi 1690. The user manual leaked out by the FCC reveals that the nuvi is a connected PND, which are now no longer in use and have been a thing of past for quite sometime now.
The FCC received the Garmin nuvi 1690 about fifteen days back for approval. Its docs don’t disclose a lot of about its attributes excepting the backup it gives to the Bluetooth. The lately-revealed quick-start manual or user manual as it is known uncovers few specs.
According to the manuals, it is learnt that the Google will give it local data service. Plus, it will also be featured with nuinfo, of which we don’t have any knowledge, but it surely gives the impression of a connected service. The nuinfo is speculated to be a connected search service, which the company offers itself.
In addition, the images of the nuvi 1690 are also expected to offer local weather info in conjunction with live traffic directions and information.
As the reviews, the nuvi 1690 is apparently slated to be shipped in this September. Though the company has not so far given any hint about its pricing details, the device is hoped to be seen in the market very soon.
Besides, the connected service is not expected to grab the attention of costumers unless they come for free.
Garmin is a well-known name in the world of GPS-based devices and services. It is said to have a very long history as to this. However, since the competition has increased in the market, the company has begun to offer its users the best-of-the-breed devices and their services as well.
Talking about the nuvi 1690, it is speculated that the device will not be able to catch the attention of GPS users, as the connected service coming with it will not please the costumers unless it comes free.
