Garmin outs new touchscreen GPS navigation devices

Garmin has come up with its two latest GPS devices, dubbed as Oregon 450t and Oregon 450 touchscreen. Both the devices are touted to offer compatibility for online community at Garmin Connect and free Custom Maps of Garmin.
These Oregon units allow simplified navigation and come integrated with a 3-inch color display that can easily be read in all conditions. The dashboards abet users customize the appearance. Besides, the two devices feature speedy USB, better track navigation and 3-axis tilt-compensated electronic compass.
The Oregon 450t and Oregon 450 touchscreen are also packed with paperless geocaching barometric altimeter, and exchanging waypoints and tracks wirelessly and more. Plus, the units are also featured with a global shaded relief basemap whereas the Oregon 450t touts to add preloaded 100K topographic maps for the whole US and avant-garde 3D elevation perspective. The users are also free to do customization of maps for the Garmin outdoor handheld and download the activity later. Garmin’s Custom Maps claims to bring labels, details and landmarks of the user’s electronic map or current paper to an attuned Garmin Dakota, Colorado or Oregon,.
The online community at Garmin Connect allows users to experience the event even after it has come to an end. The new community also allows users to do activities on Twitter & Facebook, and the activities can also be shared to Google Earth. Weighing at 6.8 ounces, the two Oregon 450t and Oregon 450 boast of offering a battery life of around 16 hrs and each of the contraptions comes featured with a high-sensitivity GPS receiver along with HotFix.

The devices, packed with 850MB of internal memory, are also compatible with a microSD card slot. More than 17 mln activities and over 38,000 new activities are daily made on this online community.
The latest update of December 2009 allows users to do facile and easy uploading to and from 2G Garmin devices.
