Well known satellite navigation devices manufacturer, Garmin is expected to roll out yet another device which looks pretty similar to their current hot favorite pick- Garmin nuvi 1690. From its first photos, the two devices also look pretty similar. Zumo 220 seems to be a small-scale version of nuvi. Garmin has designed zumo 220 for on-road use and as it has a pretty compact and handy structure, zumo will perfectly fir in travelers’ hands.
With easy-to-use interface and great size, zumo has some advantages over other sat nav devices. With its comparatively affordable price tag of $600 and compact size, zumo could penetrate well within the sat nav market and even compete with market giants in UK and rest of the Europe. Garmin is currently marketing the device as ‘specially made for bikers’. Zumo 220 will be biker-friendly and can be handled very comfortable even with your gloves on. Touchscreen display will let you handle its settings and navigation options very easily. With a rugged and waterproof exterior case, Garmin zumo 220 is one of the most durable products available at its price range.
Zumo 220 will be able to resist UV rays and fuel sprays that could adversely affect its functioning. Zumo 220 is also pre-loaded with advanced features like City Navigator NT with sophisticated street maps and well-maintained list of millions of points of interest (POI). Voice-enabled zumo 220 is very easy to handle and offers lane assistance to users while driving. Simple but important features like digital fuel gauge are also implemented in zumo 220. Digital fuel gauge keeps track of your travel zone by measuring how many miles you have travelled.
Connectivity modes such as Bluetooth technology are supported to easily share your customized travel routes and transfer similar files to other compatible multimedia device. You can also store thee maps on microSD card which is totally compatible with zumo 220 so that you can keep track of your travelled destinations and routes. Google Earth and Navteq maps help you find best routes for travelling in Europe and other parts of the world. You can also subscribe to Garmin Connect community service which will offer you interesting routes that may be fun to travel on if you have spare time.
