Gigabyte unveils GV-R487D5-1GD graphics card


Gigabyte recently announced to have rolled out the GV-R4870 graphics card for India. Built-on the ATI Radeon HD 4870 GPU, the in-house designed GV-R487D5-1GD comes built-in with 1GB/256-bit high-speed GDDR5 video memory for super-fast performance for 3D games and applications.

In addition, the graphics card sports in technologies such as TeraScale graphics engine, the native DisplayPortconnectivity, ATI CrossFireXT support, Unified Video Decoder2 (UVD 2) and the ATI PowerPlayT power management technology. The Gigabyte GV-R4870 also claims to provide DirectX 10.1 graphics capabilities together with compatibility for Shader Model 4.1 for down-to-earth graphics.

Mr. Iman Mozaffari, Product Supervisor– Golden Systems Electronics, was quoted as saying, “We are happy to introduce GIGABYTE’s latest graphics card which delivers ultimate graphics performance in this region. GIGABYTE’s new GV-R487D5-1GD features ATI’s all-new TeraScale graphics engine, boasting teraFLOPS of GPU computing power with 800 stream processors and nearly one billion transistors. Equipped with incredibly fast 1GB GDDR5 memory, the GV-R487D5-1GD is able to deliver nearly two times the memory bandwidth of the previous generation, allowing new levels of ultra-realistic physics gaming interaction. We are confident this card will be well received in the Middle East.”

The graphics card, with the support for UVD2, also touts to make decoding processing-intensive content possible for 1080p HDTV and HD video. It also boasts of supporting dynamic contrast and augmented DVD upscaling and able to Blu-ray functionality with dual-stream, picture-in-picture (PIP) and one-cable HDMIT connectivity.

Apart of that, the new generation DisplayPort interface is also claimed to allow the card deliver 10.8 GBps of bandwidth, to back up richer color depth, higher resolutions, as well as better refresh rate performance.
And if we talk about the consumption capabilities of the GV-R487D5-1GD, it devours low-power by virtue of its ATI PowerPlayT technology and Ultra Durable 2 design. Moreover, the Gigabyte is also hundred percent RoHScompliant.

But, it’s really sad to know that we won’t be able to let you know about the pricing details and availability of the Card., it is yet to come. As and when it is surfaced, we would surely let you know.
