When the world of business is changing very rapidly with its activities and intellectual property, e-mails are being heavily relied upon. The expense relation issue turns out to be also very considerable where there are large number small business systems opting for fast track security and archive solutions.
Approaching all these needs, Google comes up with an extended email archiving service that can hold and refer email messages for up to 10 years long. Google is using its “Postini” antispam and antivirus filtering software to ensure moderate security without unnecessary blockage. Talking about the main thread, the archiving service is named Google Message Discovery, under a price tag of $45 (Rs. 2250) per user per year.
From the recent studies it can be estimated that the Google service has resolved its compatibility issues with Microsoft and IBM. As a result it can easily archive emails from MS Exchange and IBM’s LOTUS DOMINO email systems. The email is conveyed to Google’s archiving service via the Journaling feature of the email system. The search interface is readily interactive and robust. The UI provides numerous logical search options. It is also blended with a “Saved Item” tag, which helps to look for search results, search criteria and exported messages. Message discovery gives the privilege for the user to commit a new search with several parametric search options like, Date Range, Word Match, Subject, Mail Flow, Sort Functions. In a nutshell the service efficiently provides an adequate interface for locating relevant messages. The more interesting staff is once the right content is found it can be viewed and accessed through regular email interfaces like Outlook Express or can be sent to output to a secure FTP server.
