Priced at $79, the Griffin Simplifi is one of those devices which allow you to connect your iPod as well as the iPhone. In addition to its ability of docking these devices, the system sports two USB ports along with 3-in-1 flash memory card reader. But don’t think that the system allows you to transfer files from the iPod/iPhone to the flash memory card reader or vice-versa. The system just performs the job of providing a USB card-reader and iPod/iPhone dock into a one attractive device.
If are looking for a stylish and good looking iPod dock then you will disappointed. The iPod docks like Griffin Simplifi are not known for their looks. But they are known for features that are offered at low price. The unit is designed in black aluminum and white plastic which makes the device to blending in with Apple’s Mac line-up.
The top edge of the Griffin Simplifi sports a dock which allows you to fit any model of Apple’s iPod and iPhone. The unit features six pop-out plastic adapters which ensure that you can easily connect your iPod or iPhone with the unit. The back panel of the device sports an array of connectors which include mini USB which allows you to connect the device with your PC, two full size USB ports and a power input which can fit the included power adapter. However you will miss the audio and video outputs as the device features none of the two.
The device sports a 3-in-1 card-reader which is located on the front of the device for easy access. The card reader has native support for Memory Stick, SD as well as Compact Flash memory cards. On the performance front the device deliver what it claims. The device connects easily with PC, iPod or memory card and provides pretty decent connectivity speeds.
