Hardbox 3.0, embraces SuperSpeed USB

USB 3.0 is one of the highlights of 2010 as we expect a lot of manufacturers to migrate to the newest and fastest connectivity technology. USB 3.0 was being designed for a long time and now that it is completed, some manufacturers are showing great interest in creating computers and peripheral devices that support the newest technology. One of the most important peripherals in computer world is external hard drive. Sarotech has recently upgraded to the newest technology and launched its first USB 3.0-compliant hard drive called as the Hardbox.

The product looks pretty similar to a mid-sized book and the black body suits its name very well. The Hardbox will be compatible with extremely fast USB 3.0 ports and this is why you can expect better performance from the product. These Hardbox models had previously taken computer peripheral market by storm when it was released last year with USB 2.0 support. The manufacturers are expecting even better response this time as they present one of the first external hard drives that are migrating to the newest USB 3.0 technology. Consumers can feel relaxed as their old PCs and notebooks will also be compatible with upcoming model of external hard drive. As USB 3.0 technology is entirely backward compatible, computers having USB 2.0 ports may also connect with Hardbox, at lower speeds though.

As expected, the design of Hardbox is very durable and resists minor shocks and strains. The external hard drive unit will be available in various sizes from 1TB to 3TB so that consumers can choose according to their requirements. As there is no official word on its release date, we cannot confirm anything about it. But, it is pretty certain that the manufacturers will try to get the drives into the market in late February when the season is pretty clear for them to steal the thunder from other market giants. We also expect that the wait is worth it as there are hardly any decent USB 3.0 compliant external hard drives available in the market. Talking about its price, we expect it to cost a lot more than out usual hard drive thanks to USB 3.0 technology and also its minimum storage size. As the smallest capacity model is of 1TB, it is surely aimed at premium users and not for newbie consumers.
