Hitachi DESKSTAR E7K1000 Review – inspire the next

It is Hitachi that comes with its Deskstar E7K1000 as always been driven by the tagline, it continues to “inspire the next”. Another new height of storage is achieved when Hitachi plans to launch this all new hard disk. With the fullest capacity it can house up to one terabyte of data.

Though it is mainly targeted towards the enterprise users, home PC users can also think about it. Key features include lower power usage, vibration safeguard, data security with bulk data encryption, and ability to run 24 x 7. It is really difficult for enterprise users to resist it from becoming the main storage unit and house of their precious data and knowledge base. A RVS (Rotational Vibration Safeguard) system is capsuled within to guard it from vibrational disturbances. The drive also has a targeted 1.2 million hours MTBF rating. An extreme good performance bundled with its power efficiency and leading towards being automatic choice for power concerned enterprises. It consumes only 4.4 to 5.2 watt when ranges from 500 GB to 1 TB. When 7th generation power management technology blends with power saving innovations it is always an outcome like this Hitachi hard disk drive. The brand also keeps the point of data security in their mind, so it is natural that it always be provide with BDE (Bulk Data Encryption) using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) certified by National Institute of Standards and Technology. Data is encased with a key when it is scrambled on the disk and then descrambled when the key is retrieved. When the key is removed from the data it results in an unreadable junk.

You can enjoy a tailor made freedom to choose between models of this hard disk drive, which ranges from 500 GB to 1TB including a capacity of 750 GB. The 3.5 inch wonder from the house of Hitachi runs at speed of 7200 RPM with considerably less seek time of 13 ms. It is comprised of an interface of SATA having a compatibility issue ranging to 3Gb/s. So where performance, speed, security and durability are the burning issues for a high capacity drive, Hitachi E7K1000 is the smartest choice.
