The model discussed here us EliteBook 6930p GB982ET, which is designed with silver and black chassis which gives it the look of a business laptop. The laptop sets the high standards when it comes to the overall functional design and good build quality, for which HP is well known.

Measuring 33.1cm wide by 24.3cm deep and is 3.1cm thick at its maximum, the laptop weighs 2.1 kg and just misses out to qualify as a sub-2kg laptop. Some of the models in 6930p’s range boast of screen resolution of 1440×900 pixels which is much better. The display has wide viewing angles and is provided with matte finish so that you can work in any kind of indoor lighting conditions.

Another plus point of the laptop is the full sized keyboard, which is topped by row of full-sized number keys and a row of slightly smaller Fn keys above the number keys. The keys don’t flex under pressure and provide pretty good typing experience with good feedback when pressed. As the features, the laptop also includes a pointing stick along with a touchpad, and is located between the G, H and B keys. The mouse buttons are large but the touchpad lacks the horizontal scrolling. There is a finger print reader located in the wrist rest in the bottom right corner of the wrist rest and a row of touch-sensitive controls is located above the keyboard along with a volume slider and a mute button. You will also find three other controls which allow you to access HP’s Presentation Settings screen, HP Info Centre and toggle between Wi-fi and Bluetooth. The model discussed here doesn’t have Webcam though some of the other models are equipped with Webcam.

The HP EliteBook 6930p GB982ET is powered by 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 CPU and 2GB of RAM, which is expandable to 8GB. The laptop comes with Windows Vista Business provides storage of 160GB on its hard drive spinning at 5,400rpm. Other models come with 250GB hard drive and, the most expensive model comes with 80GB solid state drive.
