HP intros SimpleSave external hard drive series

hp-simple-saveHP has come up with the introduction of its SimpleSave external hard drive series, which comes featured with automatic backup for videos, photos, music and data. Thus, you can now carry anywhere your vast amounts of essential data with ease.

As the reviews, the device just needs to be hooked to the USB port to make them functional. The latest SimpleSave Series also boasts two variants, the SimpleSave Desktop and the SimpleSave Portable. The SimpleSave Portable claims to provide 320GB or 500GB storage capacities whereas the Desktop version brags of offering 1TB and 2TB storage space.

Jason Zajac, V.P. and G.M., Personal Systems Attach Group, HP, said that SimpleSave, on once being hooked up, provides automatic and virtually hands-free backup. Being the global leader in personal computing, the company is aimed at making technology useful and simple, plus, it also ensures no complex options and no learning curve to make.

The SimpleSave series also comes pre-installed with backup software that can itself make searches and carries data backup data on the computer. The software, at its initial backup, gives involuntary updates to the backup. The external hard drives also come incorporated with heat- dispelling cases that stay cool and can function but for any noise.

Driven by the PC’s USB 2.0 port, these devices don’t need external power supply. Plus, its 2.5-inch handheld hard drive helps stop the hard drive from bumps and jolts, sports in a shock-proof case.

The external hard drive series can also work with common file types for music, photo and docs including DOC, GIF, JPG, GDF, AAC, BMP, MP3, MPEG, PPT, PDF, TAX, TIFF and XLS. The NTFS file system gives support to metadata and make use of sophisticated data structures, hence, augmenting, consistency, performance and disk space.

Distributed through Ingram Micro India Ltd, SimpleSave external hard drives are slated to be availed in August, 2009. The SimpleSave portable, 320GB model is priced for Rs. 5,510, whereas the 2.5-inch hard drive 500GB is retailed for Rs. 7,450. The 1TB Desktop version can be purchased for Rs. 7,500 and the 2TB hard drive comes with the price tag of around 15,700.

    Just wondering if my simple save should work on my samsung home entertainment system when playing divix or viewing jpeg pics?? I cant get it to work.
