Priced at $749.99, the HP Pavilion dv4-2155dx is mainstream laptop from the manufacturer, which promises multitasking without any performance issues. The laptop boasts of great performance due to its 2.1GHz Intel Core i3 M330 processor and 4GB of 1,066MHz DDR3 memory. Other internal components are equally impressive such as Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD HM55 graphics card, Intel HM55 chipset and faster 320GB 7,200rpm hard drive. Moreover, the laptop comes with preinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) operating system, which makes the full use of its faster memory.

The dv4-2155dx’s 13.2×9.5×1.6 inches casing is almost entirely made of plastic. So, it weighs just 5.3 pounds and 6.1 pounds with AC adapter. The entire casing except the bottom of the laptop is glossy. It means that the laptop is prone to fingerprints and dust. The screen bezel and the wrist rest both are designed in shiny black metal.

The touch pad, mouse buttons and the sides are made of chrome, which contrast well with the rest of the laptop. Like many other Pavilion models, the dv4-2155dx has been provided with faint lines, silver bubbles and circles on the casing, which make the laptop look attractive and pristine.

The keyboard has fairly decent size for a mainstream laptop but the keys are made of shiny black plastic, which will be covered fingerprints each time you use them. Just above the keyboard, you will find the touch sensitive controls for volume, mute and Wi-Fi. However, there are no touch sensitive controls for media playback; they are limited to the combination of function keys. But you do get a remote control for media playback, which is housed in the ExpressCard slot. The touch pad is wide and has chrome finish, which makes it fingerprint prone and little awkward to use if you have used a larger touch pad.

The laptop sports a standard display of 14.1 inches. As the features, it has standard wide-screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The display is bright and vibrant for watching videos along with the integrated Altec Lansing stereo speakers. You also get a webcam and microphone in the screen bezel.

The HP has utilized the space around the laptop completely to provide the ports and connectors. You get both VGA and HDMI-out ports, stereo speakers, two headphone and 1 microphone jacks, ExpressCard/54, four USB 2.0 ports (two USB double as eSATA combo), multiformat card reader, Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, mobile broadband, HP proprietary expansion port and DVD burner.
