If you have watched movies, like; “Tare Zamee Par” and “Black”, you must be aware of the problems faced by the patients who are visually impaired and afflicted with diseases like dyslexia. As we all know that that dyslexia makes its patient disable to read, speak, write, spell as well as listening, while the patients of visually-impaired are not even able to see clearly, it is just a total loss of vision.
Now addressing this essential issue or you can say driven by these facts, Intel has decided to come up with a robust and powerful device that will prove to be a boon for the patients of visually impaired and dyslexic. The all-new ‘Reader’ helps users scan the whole pages of text to audio for instant playback or later review.
The book-sized contraption is reported to have the capacity of capturing text from various sources, like; from restaurant menus to academic journals. Users can effortlessly magnify and read that scanned text on the device. Besides, they can also enjoy listening to it using on-board headphones or speakers or export to MP3.
Ostensibly, the Reader boasts a high resolution, and has been included with an Intel Atom processor, which helps it capture massive amounts of text accurately and quickly.
The all-new Intel’s Reader is said to come with the price tag of around $1500, which will cost about Rs. 69,359 according to Indian currency. Thanks to the advancement and new innovations in technology, the special or abnormal people are also able to lead their lives like the normal ones. And it is only by virtue of the technology that we have been able to overcome many such diseases that once used to be Greek for us.
I personally hope the device make a difference in the lives of the patients afflicted with it and let them enjoy reading and watching as the normal-readers do.
