Iomega ScreenPlay Pro HD – Share your pictures, music, videos and more

Iomega has announced the release of its new ScreenPlay Pro HD 1TB Multimedia Drive, whereby you can share your family photos, music and videos from your home network to home theater. Offering a high-def theatre experience, the company claims the 1 TB drive lets you bring all your music, photos, standard- & high-def videos to a home theater from a computer by generating a suitable link between the home network and the home theater.

Compliant with a 10/100 Ethernet and wireless connection, the 7,200RPM unit-formatted hard disk drive is capable of enabling you to make access to your networked files or use a second USB drive to transfer files.

Built-in with a remote, the Iomega 1 TB Drive also has basic video recording capabilities from a set-top box, letting you save a standard definition video clip for viewing later. The video connection drive is built-in with HDMI, component and composite video. Whereas audio connections like composite coaxial S/PDIF outputs and RCA are also integrated.

Along with DivX, MPEG-4 and XviD video files, the ScreenPlay Pro HD drive is also touted to back up HD signals up to 1080i resolution. It is also capable of supporting a large array of file formats which comprise: MP3, WMA, WAV, MPEG-2 (AVI/VOB), MPEG-1, AC3 (Dolby Digital Encoding), and JPEG.

The ScreenPlay Pro HD is compatible with Windows XP & Vista operating systems, and provides backup of significant data with EMC Retrospect software. The 1 TB Iomega ScreenPlay Pro HD multimedia drives has been launched with the price tag of $300 (approx. Rs. 14,790).
