Most of the Bluetooth speakerphones available in the market are meant from making hands-free calls only. But, Jabra SP700 is different from other speakerphones as it is also compatible with stereo Bluetooth. The compatibility with stereo Bluetooth means that you can stream music wirelessly from your stereo Bluetooth phone to SP700. The built-in FM transmitter allows you to pipe in the music via your car’s stereo. The Jabra SP700 is priced at $90 but can be found online for around $50.
The Jabra SP700 is slimmest speakerphone that has hit the market. The device is 3.3 inches long, 2.12 inches wide and 1.2 inches thick. The device has flat shape with oval appearance when viewed from the front. The three-fourths of the total surface is a large oval speaker grille. Four LED indicators above the speaker grille show battery status, call status, Bluetooth status, and FM transmitter status. One interesting thing about the device is that its top part acts as a multifunction call button. You need to press the button for 2 seconds to switch on the device and hold it down for 4 seconds to switch it off. You just need to tap on it for answering and ending the calls. The left edge of the device features FM button which is used to transmit audio to car’s stereo whereas the right edge features a volume rocker along with the charger jack.
Apart from the advanced features like FM transmitter and stereo Bluetooth capability, the device includes some basic features like answering, ending and rejecting calls. The basic features also include last number redial, voice dialing if your phone supports it, and call mute. The device also features a night driving mode, which automatically shuts off all the LED indicators so that there is no interference from lights while driving.
Another interesting feature is that the SP700 gives voice announcements to inform you about the status of speakerphone. The SP700 will let you know when it is on/off, paired and FM enabled. It also announces the incoming caller ID which is really great. If any call comes when FM is enabled, the caller ID is displayed on your radio. Moreover, the voice announcements can be provided in 10 different languages.
The Jabra SP700 comes with a USB charger as well as an in-car charger. It has a rated talk time of 14 hours and a rated standby time of 10.6 days.
