JVC Everio GZ-MS120 reviews – an economical standard definition mini camcorder

jvceveriogz-ms120The gap between economical pocket video cameras that can shoot HD video and standard definition mini camcorders is closing by the day. People have a difficult time choosing between the two varieties. The only two aspects that still make people go for camcorders over the cheaper alternatives are optical zoom and excessive storage space in camcorders.

The JVC Everio GZ-MS120 camcorder features a 35x optical zoom and provisions for increasing storage capacity on it to 64 GB. The camcorder does not have an internal storage capacity but features a couple of SD/SDHC media card slots that enable you to expand storage on the device up to 64 GB. The icing on the cake is lent by the fact that this camcorder is extremely economical with a price tag of $299.95.

As far as the dimensions of the camcorder are concerned, it measures about 2.1 inches by 2.6 inches by 4.4 inches. The weight of this camcorder is around 10.2 ounces. The sensor size of this camcorder is 1/6 inch and it offers a maximum resolution of 800K pixels. The camcorder also sports a 2.7 inches big LCD screen that offers a native resolution of 123K dots.

The files on the camcorder are stored in the MPEG-2 file format with Dolby digital audio. If you are recording at the maximum quality, you will able to record 14 minutes of video per 1 GB of space. As far as image stabilization is concerned, this camcorder features only digital image stabilization. The rechargeable lithium ion battery of this camcorder lasts about 2 hours and 45 minutes on a single round of full charge.

The JVC Everio GZ-MS120 camcorder is very hands on in terms of usage with carefully and elegantly placed controls. The snapshot button and the zoom rocker are neatly housed on its top. The camcorder is available in blue, red, and black colors. The bundled software with the camcorder enables you to use Upload, Export, and Direct DVD touch controls on the camcorder. The camcorder features an Auto lens cover. The design is perfect with USB ports and AV out terminal port. You also get plenty of shooting options on this camcorder. The camcorder accounts for pleasing colors and a satisfying overall performance. If you are on a look out for an economical standard definition mini camcorder, the JVC Everio GZ-MS120 can be a good option.
