There was a time when having an iPod dock in a music system was considered to be a great update. With the latest offering from JVC, the NXD2 has created a whole new place for itself. The company has upped the standards with the NXD2 by making it bigger than its predecessor. This brawny system flaunts 230 watts of raw power along with a three-way (tweeter. mid range and Woofer) speaker design.
The NXD2 along with the dual iPod docks also comes with an AM/FM tuner plus a CD player. Digital Audio Playback is possible from USB drives. (USB Hosts) One of the most notable features is the remote which is very much similar to the iPod’s famous control wheel. The frontal face of this sleek yet massive shelf system looks pretty impressive. With a LCD iPod visor the user can connect their iPod or USB Drive and select their preferred track.
The dual iPod dock function simultaneously playing preferred tracks or play-lists. It doubles up as a dual charger too. The sleek body of the music system has been given a glossy black finish. Icy blue touch screen display is good to look at and lives up to its price tag. JVC being renowned for its exceptional sound quality has gone a step further with the NXD2. JVC’s Sound Turbo technology has been included in this system for a room shattering low frequency performance.
JVC’s NXD2 also comes with a host of other features like video out which can play videos from your iPod on a television. Multi-play-list playback is possible, thanks to the USB mass storage device included in the system. The frontal audio input ports make it more USB Drive friendly. It is said that the user can save play-lists of their choice in the memory of the system due to its integrated mass storage device.
For the common man the price tag of US$400 could prove to be quite pricey but from what JVC has to say, we could assume it would be worth the price. But there is a subsidized version of the same, JVC UXF3 with 60 watts of power and two way speaker system at half the price. Reports confirm launch date of the JVC NXD2 can be expected around January end. While the lower version could take some time and end up around May 2010.
