Ever heard of a USB flash drive with an eSATA port? For those of you who are new to this name, an eSATA port is an extremely high-speed connector that you will use to connect your expensive external hard drives. The Kanguru e-Flash drive (32GB) is priced at $119.95 and is special in respect that it sports an eSATA port on it. This means that the presence of an eSATA port on this drive ensures that its write speeds are increased to double the standard values.
If your computer features an eSATA port, you can connect the Kanguru e-Flash drive to it and experience lightening write speeds of the drive. In case your computer lacks such a port, just buy an eSATA ExpressCard and then mere connect it to this flash drive via a cable that is shipped with this flash drive. Another exciting thing about this drive is the presence of a USB 2.0 port on it. This port can be used by you for regular flash drive use. In case you need to transfer large files, photos, or movies and video files, use the eSATA connection that will do the required work at a very high speed.
The Kanguru e-Flash drive, with a storage capacity of 32GB, measures a mere 3.5 by 0.9 by 0.25 inches. As it sports an eSATA port, its size is larger than that of many other USB drives. The drive sports a plastic body that has a glossy-black finish to it. You can use the USB 2.0 port on this drive to transfer data and can also power an eSATA connection through it. Once formatted, the e-Flash boasts of a storage capacity of 28.1GB. The drive features a “HotSwap!” application pre-loaded into it. This application accounts for safe removal of the drive when it is connected over an eSATA connection. This drive offers an average write speed of 14.2 megabytes per second and an average read speed of 25.2 megabytes per second, both over USB 2.0. These speeds get almost 90 per cent boost when used over an eSATA connection. If you are looking for a flash drive with an eSATA support, the Kanguru e-Flash (32GB) drive should be your ideal choice.
