Ever heard of an excellent pocket camcorder? Kodak’s Zi6 Pocket Video Camera, priced at $180, is here to make its mark in the markets. It boasts of a plethora of features and captures video with overwhelmingly bright colors. Do not mistake it to be a product that can replace a high end camcorder, but you will be surprised to see that this product is far better than the present models of pocket HD camcorders. If you want to talk about features, then the Zi6 Pocket Video Camera packs many features in a compact, stylish, cool, and a well designed frame.
The Zi6 features a flip-out USB connector. The purpose of this connector is to enable direct-from-device uploads from your camera to websites like YouTube. With this connector, you can also offload clips to your computer. The device is extremely easy to operate, thanks to the presence of easy controls. The device accounts for an excellent video quality and gives you the option to toggle between macro and landscape modes. The device also boasts of the presence of three video-shooting modes and also a still-photo mode.
The three video modes offered by the camcorder record files as H.264 .mov files. In other words, recording is performed in 60 frames per second HD mode, in 30 frames per second HD mode, and in standard VGA mode. If you want to use the still mode of the Zi6, with its CMOS sensor you will be able o capture images at a resolution of 3 megapixels. These images are certainly far better than those by above average cell phone cameras.
The Zi6 is very pocketable in terms of size and is around the size of Apple’s iPod Nano. But at the same time, it is kind of bigger than its rivals the Creative Vado HD, Flip Mino HD, or the Sony Webbie HD MHS-PM1. The colors produced by the Zi6 are more vivid in the source .mov file when compared to those by its closest rivals. If you want to lay your hands on a decent pocket sized camcorder, then Kodak’s Zi6 Pocket Video Camera is an excellent choice.
