Kyocera Jax S1300 reviews

kyocera-jaxEver heard of the Kyocera X-tc from Virgin Mobile? If your answer to this question is a yes, then hear about the Kyocera Jax now. The Kyocera Jax, by Sprint, is totally different from Kyocera X-tc. The difference between the sets lies in the fact that while the latter carries a full keyboard for texting purposes, the former is a mere simple handset that will be helpful to you only for making calls.

The design of the phone is that of a traditional candy bar and the features of the device are minimal. The best part is that the Kyocera Jax can be obtained for as less as $9.99. The device is rectangular in shape with sharp corners. The phone is danger prone as the skin of the phone is made up of soft plastic. The phone weighs around 2.5 ounces and measures about 4.29 inches by 1.73 inches by 0.51 inches.

The handset features a display that is 1.8 inches big and offers a native resolution of 160 × 128 pixels or 65,000 colors. This directly hints at the fact that the graphics of this handset are not very sharp. The phone allows you to fiddle with its display’s brightness, backlighting time, and contrast.

The phone houses a 2.5 mm headset jack that is accompanied by a microUSB charger port. The phone features a circular toggle for navigation and a big, central OK button. The keypad of the device rests above its surface and the raised keys are made up of plastic. The keypad is backlit.

You can hold about 250 contacts in its phonebook. You are provided with nine ringtones and a few pre-loaded graphics on the phone. You can enjoy text and multimedia messaging on the device. You can also download additional ringtones on your device through Virgin’s VXL Internet portal using the WAP 2.0 Web browser on the phone.

Other features include speakerphone, calendar, alarm clock, a voice memo recorder, stopwatch, memo pad, etc. The phone also features Voice dialing.  As far as battery life is concerned, you can talk for 3.3 hours on a full charge. Overall, the Kyocera Jax S1300, by Sprint, is a simple phone for your basic call needs.
