Lenovo intros 12-inch IdeaPad S12 netbook
Lenovo has decided to roll out a 12-inch netbook. Known as IdeaPad S12, the device is touted to be so capable that it can offer a never before HD-Video and gaming experience. The netbook comes embedded with a 12.1 inch screen, which boasts a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels, whereas the Intel Atom N270 processor, on the other hand, brags rendering a robust performance.
The users can either purchase the netbook without or with the Ion processor, the company says. In addition, IdeaPad S12 claims to give support to HD H264, VC-1 and MPEG-2.
Weighing just3.7 pounds, this 1.14 inch thick netbook consists of a six-cell battery. The 1GB DDR2 RAM is a foil for the performance of the processor whereas the 160GB hard disk drive lets users store all their data. Lenovo IdeaPad S12 is compatible with Windows XP Home Professional and comes built-in with 1.3 mp webcam. The netbook makes use of 802.11 b/g wireless Wi-Fi networks to hook up to the Internet.
The device also comes integrated with three USB 2.0 ports, Express Card slot as well as multi-touch trackpad. The device also has HDMI port and full-size keyboard on the Ion model. It also comes featured with Lenovo’s VeriFace, Quick Start and OneKey Rescue System for backups.
As its reviews, the device is a blend of a gaming netbook and a 12-inch notebook. Lenovo IdeaPad S12 is expected to be priced modestly at around $499 (approx Rs.23, 600) and if you want to get netbook without the Ion Processor, it will come with $50 less. It is slated to shipped in from August 2009.
After going through the features of the multi-featured netbook, as a finale note I would like to say that the reality will be learnt when the device will hit the market.
