Measuring 107×52x13.9mm, the LG KC780 finds itself among the slimmest 8MP camera phones present in the market. With a mere thickness of 13.8 mm and weight of 119g, the LG KC780 houses a 2.4 inch display along with slide out keyboard, Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens for capturing beautiful looking pictures and a loads of features.
The LG has a range of great handsets available in the market at present but now the LG has added KC780 to reinforce 8-megapixel range of devices. The LG KC780 was launched at the time when the much publicized and anticipated LG Renoir entered the market. The Renoir is a top-end device from LG. The KC780 is neither as slick as Renoir nor it supports Wi-Fi and 3G. So the Web browsing is a slow affair on the KC780’s WAP browser.
The KC780 is designed with a sleek plastic look and its slide out keypad is cramped due to lack of space and feels tacky. So, the KC780 looks like a basic cell phone with superb 8-megapixel camera. The device also sports a music player which can handle MP3 and AAC formats but the overall sound quality is very poor. Moreover you can’t attach a nice pair of headphones to enjoy the music as there is no 3.5mm standard headphone jack, which could have compensated the poor sound quality. You can store only few music files as the device has built-in memory of 140MB. But you can expand the memory to 8GB by adding external memory card.
The most distinguishing features of KC780 is its 8-megapixel camera which offers a number of features which include Face detection, ISO up to 1600, Image Stabiliser, Light Sensitive Capture, Auto Focus and more. In addition to that, there is a Beauty Mode which meant to remove spots and blemishes from the subjects’ face thus providing clear and bright images. Moreover, the built-in camcorder is capable of recording pretty good videos with playing back the captured videos in MPEG4 and DivX video formats. The video quality is quite close to DVD quality at 30 frames per second. If that is not enough, the KC780 has additional feature of using the camera as Webcam. You can use it with Smart Bluetooth feature enabled which provides greater flexibility and use.
The LG has rated the battery life of KC780 to be 6 hours of talk time and 450 hours of standby time.
