By on January 10, 2009

The LG KC910 Renoir is another 8-megapixel camera from LG which makes the LG a true leader in camera phone development. The Renoir is s high-end handset which looks similar to Apple iPhone or Samsung Tocco. This similarity is due to the dominating full touch screen but the Renoir is thicker than the two. The Renoir measures 107.8 x 55.9 x 14mm and weighs 114 grams.

The most of the front panel of the handset is dominated by its large 3-inch touch screen which is provided with somewhat mirror finish. The mirror finish makes it a rather difficult to read the text under the sunlight. A second camera is located on the front panel along with the light sensor which adjusts the display brightness according to the lighting conditions. The camera on the front is useful for making video calls. Three controls are located below the display- Call and End button and a shortcut key to open the application launcher.

The right spine features two dedicated camera buttons which is unusual. One buttons starts the camera and the other one is meant for image stabilization in low light environments. The volume controls are also featured on the right spine. The left spine features a microSD memory card slot along with a proprietary LG port for headphones. The LG also provides you with a converter which allows you to use any other standard 3.5mm headphone. The back panel features the impressive 8-megapixel camera with flash and shutter, which provides the extra safety to the lens. When you open the shutter, the screen shows virtual camera display which shows features like red eye reduction and zoom. The camera features also include smile and blink detection. Also included Beauty shot feature which enhances the picture quality with automatic removal of spots and blemishes from the images. The Touch Shot feature enables you to capture a picture by clicking anywhere on the screen. A great feature is there something you which to catch in the corner of a large picture.

The Renoir features a good music player which provides good music experience due to the featured Dolby Mobile Sound Technology, which improves the sound quality to some extent. Though you have only 140MB of onboard memory for storing the music, the LG provides a 8GB micro SD card for storing music or video files. The Renoir supports AAC and MP3 file formats. The handset also comes with a built in DivX player which a major attraction for movie lovers. An included CD has the software to convert the movies to the DivX format. The handset offers Cable/USB connectivity as well as the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

The LG Renoir provides 3.5 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time.
