Lite-On unveils the eTAU208 Slim 8X DVD/CD Writer

Following the iHES208 Blu-ray disc reader, Lite-On now has announced the release of its eTAU208 Top-load External Slim 8X DVD/CD Writer that, according to the company, is crafted to offer utmost probability with its exclusive attributes. As the reviews, this USB-enabled device is featured with a lightweight body and top-load design. The power-saving external drive claims to consume lesser energy in comparison of internal drives.
Compatible with netbooks and notebooks, the USB-powered optical drive is weighed not more than 0.7lbs, and is too handy and portable to be carried anywhere you like. Thus, it is the perfect device for travelers, professionals and students. The drive also comes built-in with a USB cable holder, which keeps the USB cable held in place when the drive isn’t being used. Its top-loading mechanism allows easy CD/DVD playback and backup.
Christine Hsing, Marketing Manager at PLDS, said that a notebook is commonly found lacking an optical drive built-in. The eTAU208 boasts of offering true performance and portability for the existing busy professionals. Its distinct tray-less design helps end the risk of electronic and mechanical malfunction. The design can also decrease the drive’s weight. In addition, the mechanical lock above the loader allows it to place or retrieve a disc with ease while the drive is unplugged.
The drive also has the latest version of the LightScribe labeling technology. This helps it deliver writing speeds of 8X for DVD±R and DVD+RW, 6X for DVD±R DL and DVD-RW, 5X for DVD-RAM and 24X for CD-R(W) alongside read speeds of 8X for DVD-ROM and 24X for CD-ROM.
The Lite-On eTAU208 8X DVD/CD Writer is slated to be rolled out before the ending of this month. The device will come in four colors such as; white, blue, black as well as red. The drive is likely to come with the price tag of around $64.99 (approx. Rs. 3,187).
